Looks good sam. What are you doing for a fill? TJ? I wanna do a tj filler on my jeep but the stock hole is too big and would have to be made smaller. Maybe one day when money is endless.
I like the tie downs you have, i did the same thing but just bolted them to the floor.

lol the tie downs are of no use anymore, they are just chillin underneath some permanent sheetmetal.
the raised fuel filler door came out nice. Its not perfect by any means, especially due to the fact there is a crease in the xj body up there. I was planning on bondoing it flat, but i don't have the ambition, plus my 1/4 panel armor will cover most of it anyway

with having 3" lift and longarms is cool and all. and while i have never really been hung up on my arms, i do drag them alot which it would be nice not to bottom out on them when coming down on ledges. this will also make it easier for me to build one single flat belly skid, which will fare much better than what im running now. i bet i will see no loss in flex, in fact i would like to limit it some anyway. my control arms with longarms are perfectly flat now, i will essentially be moving the mounts forward and i will end up with the same angle. if i had the factory shortarms and brackets my arms would probably be pointed up a bit due to the fact I raised my lca mounts on the axle thinkin about a mid arm type setup now i would want DOOKIN joints so i can run a larger bolt than 9/16" they are klunky as hell now, i keep wallowing out the holes, and when i reweld those holes and redrill they only wallow out again. i know i would weld some dookin hardened washers there, but then the bolts wear thin. it would be a 3 link maybe 4 link, because a radius arm setup simply won't work with the arms any shorter than they are now. and all the cool kids (adam) are doing it. i think i would want them a teensie further back than this

im gonna also throw in another benefit, i could more easily inboard them to the inside of the framerails, seeing there is more room up there than if i were to go further back.

oh and my aw4 shifter is fucked up
it will get stuck in either 2nd or 3rd gear and will randomly work again anywhere from 10 seconds to 3 minutes.
looking into wiring in the factory 99 aw4 computer into my 96.
20 wires come out of the controller, i gotta figure out what they all do and where they go, and the ones i don't need (nss)
i would hate to get into a wiring mess with my main harness.
the possible headaches might make swapping in the correct transmission seem like a better idea

aiight. i found mah ol' trustee compudah pin diagram for my 96, and it is extremely similar to a 98 tj in the conversion diagrams i had saved, all the same pins just a couple different colored wires, and this looks to be easier than i had originally thought.
gonna do this the non-hack way (like what i usually do) gonna solder and shrink wrap each connection all fancy fancy, this is something i do not want to fail EVAR.
the transmission will be plug and play, if i ever need another tranny i'll need one from a 98-01, unless i want to reverse all my work.

DUR DA DURRR
bad ground the same spot as the time a few months back when my hvac controls wouldn't work and my tranny ghost shifted and torque converter lockup light flickered.
so i thought "nah couldnt be the same ground"
totally different symptoms
