I love the manual thats in my Jeep because of the 6.32:1 1st gear and the unbreakable strength of it. I love driving standard because I feel like I am actually in control of my vehicle and not just driving along. I do think that having an auto has advantages in an off-road application however. For me, I'm not about to change it. As far as my Jetta, that too is standard and its just fun to drive with the turbo the size of a rasin. Obviously traffic is a pain sometimes but I think its well worth it.

I've stalled my xj with an aw4 more than I've ever stalled any of the standards I've ever driven.

I prefer a manual for DD and fun use. But for wheeling i prefer an automatic. My dream is to rebuild a 92 Mj from the ground up. 4.0 TJ 6 speed manual tranny 2wd, 3" lift and 31's with with 100% everything from an 01 xj, even the emissions crap ( i have my reasons i wont get in to here) then re register it as an 01 Jeep Cherokee Sport truck like many others have done. That will be my dream resto/DD one day.

yeah...ive stalled my car many times before....esp if im in a rush getting out of the car and take my foot off the clutch before i turn it off... yeah... Oh ive done that once or twice. Its pretty funny when you do it on a manual, but when ya do it in an automatic idk what to say. Ive sadly done it in both.
