yea rustys spring.... i've had RE and Rusty's and the only difference is the price. Rustys coils i got for $100pair and the leafs i got for $250 for a pair. RE wanted $175 for coils and $350 for leafs. Thats a huge price difference for the same junk.

Is anyone good at installing head units? I have done 3or4 myself but i've never had to deal with and amp or sub before and i'm not sure how that all works. Apparently the PO wanted to keep the unit that was in there so he took the old one out and shoved a different one in there and never hooked it up... He just made it look like it was installed So that ads another thing on my list.

That little square speaker is a tweeter and you can disconnect it if you wish i personally think those are junk. I would also replace those speakers in the lift gate.
But in all honesty i cant really tell what you have to work with w/o seeing it, he really made a big mess in there. I would go to best buy and have them install it. It wont be much $$ and it will make your life much easier if you go in and say hook up the cd player and make sure everything works right.

right... I was bored, i have a day off for Labor day and i was hoping I could solve some of this one my own. He really did make a mess, and he didnt even take the time to hide wires or anything. Its all just running across the floor and such. I might just give in and take it up to best buy or circut city.
When my old jeep was stolen and then got it back without my headunit, My insurence company bought me that kenwood and paid circuit city to install it for me and it was really easy. Just drop the jeep off, walk around the mall, hour later it was done and everything worked like it was supposed to.

The two wires with the red and white connectors (the blue wire) those are to connect your cd player to the amp. They are called sub pre outs, there should be two corresponding female connections on the back of the cd player labeled sub out. If so connect those. Red to Red white to white. Ignore the two wires on the back of the CD player with the red and white connectors. you wont use those.
Take the kenwood harness and make sure it fits in that plug on the cd player. if so then thats the correct part and you can begin to matchup wires.
There should be one black wire in the jeep and one on the harness, thats the ground. Connect them.
If there is a solid red wire coming from the jeep that should be the power wire and needs to be connected to the red wire on the KW harness. Also there is a wire that needs to be connected from the amp to the cd player Power wire as well. its usually a very thin wire that is labeled REM. color varies but its a single wire coming from the amp (labeled on am as REM) Thats what turns the amp on and off when the jeep is on and off. Connect that to the red power wires as well.

Next you need to sort out the wires in the jeep for the speakers. There will be a + and- left front + and - right front and + and- right rear and + and - left rear. I am not to sure how he has this setup though cause it appears that the speakers are amplified through the amp and may not be using the stock wiring any more . this is where i would have to see what you have in person order to help more.

Success!! well kinda... I have all the speakers hooked up through the headunit and everything works. NO AMP or SUB at this time, but its a good start and i'll probably let them ride untill i get bored again or decide to have best buy hook them up. Unless someone makes me and offer on them and then i'll rip them out. I also took that cheap roof rack off. I might use it if i go on a trip or go wheeling or something but it doesnt need to ride up there all the time because it looks rediculous. Also if someone wants that shoot me an offer. see if you can spot something else in this picture....
