excuse my retardedness if you already posted or not, did you pull the cover off yet? yes i did i took a bunch of pics mostly of the same thing..and i left em nearly fullsize so that people could see...to the best of my gathering, there isnt play in my pinion, there is slop in the locker in there, definitely isnt tight..and i believe thats what was allowing all that play, no real idea....there were also no metal shavings as far as i could tell as it was draining... The pattern does look off to me.     |

i am a lot less worried about the supposed slop right now as i am about the pattern itself. it definitely looks no good to me...can someone who has a little more gear know-how than me chime in?

If you are turning your pinion and automatically transmitting power to the carrier that is no good. You need between .006 to .010 of backlash to deal with heat expansion. That may cause droning. As far as the gear pattern. Its kinda hard to decipher the pattern with no paint. It looks a little farther to the heel of the ring gear. Thats from looking at the gear oil pattern which is not a very good indicator as who knows how far its dripped or moved.
As far as the locker slop. If its fucked up its fucked up. You have had issues with it in the past correct? What was it exactly and what was the fix? Maybe the teeth are worn to fuck and back. I really dont know.
Oh and the flash from the camera makes it look weird
