I RARELY go into 4x4 in snow, unless I really have to....gas is gettin expensive. I have heard from TJ owners that in 2wd, you will NEVER know the front locker is there, no matter what the situation. And I appreciate all the input...I havn't made up my mind yet, but I have never experienced/driven in a vehicle with a rear locker, and am just a little nervous to do it on a DD. Plus, you all have auto's (or most of you anyways) and I have a stick, so I am concerned about the constant letting off the gas and getting on it again from shifting, and if I will always hear it engaging and disengaging from this. Anyone here have a locked rear/standard tranny combo??

If your worried about push then your an idiot to get a front locker. In the front is the only axle you will get push from locking it. You won't notice the rear.

Yea but I want to know if it will PUSH IN 2WD!!!!!! Thats all. I barely go into 4x4 even in snow. Thats what I'm trying to say!! Now, can anybody answer me as to whether it will push in 2wd as well? I have a lot of skill driving and am not too worried about push, I would just rather not deal with it on a DD. Also, I'd like to know if anyone has a stick tranny with a rear locker, and how it acts?? I'm picky on my mods and just want to get some insight before I go changing up my driveline.

push in 2wd should not be an issue at all with a front locker.

If you're that picky, why not go with a selectable rear locker, like an ARB air locker or something along those lines?
