hhhhwwelll. an update. runs/drives great. tightening up that steering box was an amazing idea and the steering is waay tighter. i might loosen it an 1/8" turn bc i think its too tight and feels weird around the center. there is definately more power on tap. pulls just as hard if not harder than when i had the 31s, hell, i even chirped the 33s. exhaust note sounds stock til you get on it and it rips. only bad thing is that the belt is squealing like a mofo. ive tried 2 different idler pulleys (although i think both arent perfect). im gonna swap the belt around so it goes the other way, and spray some water on it, and try some bar of soap trick i heard of.

tightening the box can result in premature steering box failure. You are pulling the sector shaft tighter into the ball nut.

thats what ive read alex, but apparently if you dont tighten it too much its OK. i actually just loosened it up a bit. rico, the exhaust is an APN header, catco cat, dynomax muffler. everything is 100% done. the squealing was the idler pulley misaligned so i got creative with a crowbar and and washers and its much straighter now.

Is there a reason for that stock crushed are? Until I researched it I was wondering how the hell I got a rock up there without any damage to anything else.

exhaust back pressure for more torque i believe that and front DS clearance. a stock rig will crush it when you stuff the front end.

No, don't worry about it. You will gain 75 ft lbs of torque.
