Is that a neighbors house in the background? Holy shit that's close by. welcome to suburbia long island. thankfully that neighbor has a giant garage and is massively awesome and lets me borrow whatever i need. im still bleeding the PS system.. fluid level went down a bit so thats good bc air is getting out. gonna keep bleeding for a while..

a lot of air splurged out when i left it idling for a while. took it for a drive and goddamn. high end pulls MUCH harder but i definitely lost a small bit of low end. if you havent already done so, tighten your steering box if its sloppy. makes a HUGE difference.
still pisses a bit of PS fluid but not as much.

ive been using the cheapo power steering fluid and this shit turns to water when turning 37's in 95 degree heat and easily gets the air out of the system, but moans after driving for a while.
its becoming a pita

How exactly do you tighten the steering box? I have a used durango box which is essentially the same as an xj box with a bigger piston but it still seems pretty loose.

as far as fluid.. im running prestone whatever. it was like 8 bucks for 2 qts.
tightening the box? look at it from the top, and you'll see an allen nut, and a nut around it. loosen the nut (5/8 on the xj box), then tighten the allen SLOWLY, like 1/4 turn at a time, til the slop goes away. then tighten the 5/8" nut
