Alright, so I have JKS Quicker Disco's for the front sway bar of my 96 XJ. When I decide to disconnect the sway bar the only thing I can think of is to bungie cord it to a small hole in the front of the sub-frame. I'm tired of doing that because it hardly stays up and contacts my spring on occasion. Has anyone welded a rod to the forward sub-frame and then re-attached the disco there? It would work just as if it was attached at the axle but just up and out of the way. Would this even work? Any better/other ideas? I feel that this is an easy fix and I'm over thinking it. Thanks for the help guys,
-Jon

I use cables with clips that I made, I have also seen guys bolt a stud up to the subframe like you said you would weld.
I would personally bolt it cuz its easier

Yes I will try and post pictures tomorrow. I would go ahead and just take the sway bar off but I do mostly highway driving so its not too practical in my opinion. I never thought of using cables; that would take out the slop given by a bingie cord. Thanks guys. Do you have a picture or design handy of the cable hold up?

Just out of curiosity and not to persuade you or anything but have you ever driven with the sway bar off?

Actually my old 86 XJ's sway bar broke when I owned it. It could have been because everything was shot (biushings, shocks, springs, ect) but driving that without the sway bar became kinda hairy at times. Besides I already own the discos. I might try it at some point down the line now that my suspension is new. Thanks for that site Wide-J, I'm going to take some measurements and see what I can do with it. If not I'm going to break out the welder and start burning rod .

My JKS's came with pins to mount them on when not connected. they are pretty much the ideal solution. I got them 5 years ago tho, curious as to why newer sets wouldnt have them. but yeah, ill post pics tomorrow if you really want.

They still come with the storage pins but they don't work on XJs unless you have the front skid plate.

But hey skid plate ehh? Anyone got one your willing to part? I haven't heard of that working but I'll look into it more.
