Wow, havent posted in here for a while. Speed-J ran. speed-J died. Bunch of little shit thats been building up for years is finally taking its toll. the Jeep is undrivable. it'll move still, but not well. this is coming sooner than id like, but Im thinking its about time for Speed-J V3.0 basically, Im fucking sick of working on this pig, would like to start on another jeep project, would like it if I never have to turn a wrench on this thing again. (wishfull thinking I know) but to do that is alot of work. ALOT of work. but I figure as long as im not trying to do rush jobs before trips and really take my time with it, do everything the right way, it wont piss me off and it'll actually get done. So, a buddy of mine has offered me a spot in his garage, and this winter I may take advantage of it. The goal: total frame up rebuild. (sounds crazy I know) it has to be done tho. whats involved: Strip down to the frame. get frame acidwashed to get all the shit inside out. get it sealed/paint it. new clayton longarms redo front axle with this: bluetorchfab.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=47&products_id=169Rebuild engine with all new gaskets. change all fluids in jeep. paint EVERYTHING. new brake lines bigger brake booster new steering/hydro assist new gears install OBA. herculine interior. basically i wanna clean everything up, grease everything, get everythig working well, and address all the little bangs and squeeks and have a jeep that ill be proud of/happy to drive again. I wanna get everything squared away that way the only thing I have left to do is try to fab up bumpers/sliders, beef up the roll cage and maybe get some 4-point harnesses. like I said, its alot of work, but it needs to be done. and now that i have almost all the pieces i need, it might actually turn out well if i take my time. I am also thinking about lowering it from 5.5 inch springs to 3. and possibly even coil-overs for the rear. these ideas are being kicked around, and I will post them in here or tech as the time comes. so this winter, grab the popcorn, pull up a chair, and watch as this project becomes the end of me.

Its alot of work to fix what needs to be done on the suspension from under the car, by stripping it down to the frame it will actually be a whole lot easier and more time efficient to work on I think.
and it just all REALLY REALLY needs to be done haha.
and my current set of arms are like first generation Clayton. they werent even powdercoated. they have rusted to hell and to be honest, I feel as tho the threads are compromised, therefore the arms are compromised. saftey and longevity are the big reason for spending the money. after all the work cleaning everything else up, to have to spend time to clean up the arms too just isnt worth it.
