I also dont see any logic behind selling a stronger D 44 for a 8.25 just because its already geared. because it was financially a better option. i am in such a big hole with money right now, and i would not be where i am at with the build if i didnt get the 8.25. its fine for me and what i plan on doing which is locked front and rear with 33s. im not going to bother with 35s locked on the d30 because... well thats just stupid. and ill also be away at college for the next 4 years so no where in that period will i have time to get any kind of stronger axle for the front and doing any kind of fabrication like that. i plan on staying at where i will be when im done with this build, for a long time and upgrade what i have to, but seriously, get off my back about the 8.25.

Well you never told me in the first place when i asked why you got rid of the D 44. Steve told me why you got rid of the D 44 actually. I would not have busted your balls about it had i know that was the reason why because that makes sense. And i am in a financial hole as well as 90% of everyone else on this forum so your not alone. I am in the hole about 8 grand right now not including school payments and insurance bills and such.

Took me all of 5 minutes(literally) to paint my axle and diff cover. I did it cuz it was something to do that day. I have way too many scratches to even consider waxing my jeep or wash it for that matter.

I am in the hole about 8 grand right now not including school payments and insurance bills and such. i guess i thought i had made it clear that a geared axle strong enough for 33s for $200 was going to be cheaper then gearing the 44 which would have cost me ~$350 after gears and labor. i sold the 44 for $300 and bought the 8.25 for $200 so i had $100 back in my pocket. which still was less then i had into the 44, but all the parts the the 44 needed like bearing and brakes, the 8.25 didnt, so it worked out in the long run. It does kinda suck that i got rid of a xj 44 that i got for a good price and will be hard to find later in life if i ever need one, but im happy its off to a good home with Adam. sorry that i didnt make it clear why i got rid of the 44 and got the 8.25

Nothing wrong with a 8.25 for 33's, I just got a 29 spline for free from my buddy who was just gonna toss it! (he got a free trussed 44 as a gift and was moving out of his parents house )

just for fun i made a video. also an update on the build. i have had the front end in and all bolted up for a couple weeks now, i dont really like how the front is sitting with the 3" coils and 1" spacer but im going to wait and see how it is once its driving. i mounted and balanced the MTRs on the cragars yesterday so i hope to button up the last remaining things that need to be done like bleed the brakes, bolt up the upper frotn shock mounts, and some other little stuff. i hope to have it on the road by the end of next week
