x2 My detroit has about 1/8 of a turn of play or so. its completely normal from what i have heard. And i get a clunk when it engages some times. I can go under and move my rear drive shaft around a good bit so for now i would check it out but not be worries.

i cant even begin to try and explain the noises that have come from the rear end. i removed th driveshaft and covered up the transfercase, ill pull the cover tomorrow to see whats goin on. something is messed up beyond a bad gear mesh.... for sure, i should have kept the 44.

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the d35 is going back in temporarily, the 8.25 needs new gears and bearings. but there is good news, i may have gotten a job playing mechanic at my dads friends shop for the summer for good pay, 12-15/hr, which means he will set up the gears for free.
