Nice work, how does a fiberglass body hold up to abuse? ex door ways (feet) and dings and flexing and yadda yadda.

well i havent wheeled it or even driven it on the street yet. however i have been in and out of it doing work, throwing tools and junk in and out of it and it seems to hold up well. I weigh about 150lbs and can stand anywhere in the tub and havent been able to crach it. I did do a lot of reinforcing where i thought necesary, including running 1/8" thick almuminum band around the lip of the tub to protect it during entry by passengers and drivers.

been a while since i posted something on this... but ive been working steady on it, so heres some new stuff for your viewing pleasure... since my last post ive done more then you can tell, a lot of small stuff to sure up the jeep. i patched some cracks in the fiberglass and ran 1/8" aluminum band around the lip of the tub to stiffen it up and prevent damage during entry. Also a couple cost of rustoleum to the interior of the tub (brushed on) and roll bar (sprayed). The roll bar is tied into the steel skeleton under the body that attaches to the frame... so it is actually somewhat funtional. I will put more detail pics up of it soon. Here is the pics of mounting the fuel cell. It is an RCI 2151AS 15 gallon, same as the one i plan on using in the big flattie. I mounted it using the tabs on the cell with rubber body mount bushings underneath... but probably will strap it as recommended. I like the cell tho looks really clean i think. seats: the seats i am using here are stock from an 88 wrangler. I bought them for 100 bucks off craigslist. The guy said the seats ccould be cleaned but they are stained pretty bad. I will probably end up ordering some low back buckets but the reason i bought them is the brackets will work well will little modification.. and many aftermarket jeep seats will bolt to them thats all the pics i have for now, more soon

Was over my buddys tonight, he has a buick oddfire 231 v6 with alum valve covers and alum intake, 4bbl carb, and fenderwell headers, with a t90 3 speed and dana 18 transfer case with a pto from his 1960 cj5. As much as the flathead is cool, once i start driving this thing on the road, I might have to go for the V6!

heres some more "details" from my fiberglass body install for anyone who is curious. I made a steel "skelleton" for under the body to support it and provide a way to tie everything in together Heres a couple views from under the jeep Heres the mounting of the roll bar behind the seat And underneath Here is how I stiffened up the lip of the tub, using aluminum band and rivets. Makes a big difference!

WOW, i remember when you asked if anyone would be interested in this build when you started, now you have two flat fenders. Sick work i cant wait to see both side by side all done.

picked up my wheels last night, 15x7 american racing outlaw 2s, about the 4th set ive owned in various lug patterns. I am mounting some 32s" all terrain style tires that I got for free a while back
