99% sure i have sold my ARB bumper to DOUG. So i need to locate a cheap stock front bumper before this weekend so i am not driving to the meet and greet with out a front bumper on my jeep cause i really dont want to pull the arb off at the meet and greet but i will if i have to.

Not that anyone on here cares about car audio but i do and i scored a new deck. Its an Alpine IDX-200. Ive been wanting this deck for over a year, its IPOD/MP3 specific. As in it does not play cds at all. I have not had a cd case in my jeep for a long time and have wanted this deck for a long time. I got the deck second hand for $100. I had a lay away for one of these with a paid balance of $80 on it and i managed to get that refunded so this deck only cost me $20. It has great should quality and ease of use. I just got the confirmation email that my backordered JKS bracket and spacers for the wj steering are finally shipped and this week i will be going to the bone yard for the knuckles and calipers (weather permitting). I also have to do a new steering box. After my trip to CT this weekend enough is enough and i am tired of my jeep driving like a cheesy old arcade race car game so out with the old worn out durango steering box and in with a new reman durango box this weekend i hope. I also installed a lift for my best friends older brother. 1998 XJ sport, never been touched besides minor maintenance. We did a 2.5" lift, Rustys 2" Coils, and 4 Rustys shocks, and RE 2.5" AAl (already had it from his bro's old lift) that was installed reusing the olf main leaf, then the AAl, then 2 secondary leafs, and then the minor leafs from his bro's 01 xj leaf packs. He puts alot of weight in his xj on a reg basis so thats why we did double secondary leafs. its a little low in the front but the rear will sag some so i think it will level out. He is very pleased with how it came out and its not gonna be wheeled per say but more as a utility/camping/rough road/dd vehicle. 30x9.50 BFG at's that were just put on while stock last winter. Everything went well and relatively trouble free. The very cold and cluttered garage i installed it in. rear before and after Front end with 2" rustys coils, maybe we should have done 3" coils, but we figured the already broken in aal will settle and level it out over time. And here is a crappy cell pic of our 3 jeeps getting snowed on in height order.

JKS Hub spacers and Axle over bracket came in this week. Today i went to teh bone yard to get my knuckles and calipers and i got all the nuts and bolts off but i did not have the right torx for the calipers so i could not get the axle shafts out hence i could not get the knuckles off and they were closing. I am getting more torx tomorrow after work and i am gonna finish stripping the knuckles.
both knuckles and calipers $100, most places want $100 a knuckle and $50 a caliper. So its a pretty damn good deal ( I love small town bone yards) I am gonna get new Mopar Brake pads and Exp, Sport trac rotors at the parts store too, Glad i get a discount. Then i just need to have Same help me install everything and ream the new knuckles and weld in the brackets.
I am getting a new steering box next, Mine is totally fucked. A reman Durango box is $275 and a performance off road box is liek $350 ish so i may wait and get a psc or something similar. My used durango box is junk and i dont want to waste money on another used unit.
My Beijing front end parts should be in california any day now. Both fenders will be shipped to me and the header panel and headlights and grille will go directly to AJs offroad for design of the new front bumper.
I also ordered new Rubber LCA bushings from RE today. Mine are fucked.
Once all this is done i am hopefully gonna get me Unibody stiffeners installed.
I have also given up on being able to afford Long arms and i think when i do my stiffeners i am gonna have my Drop Brackets welded in (but in a still removable way) to help stiffen things up a bit and make it a bit stronger. For the amount i wheel, Long arms are unnecessary and i just want my jeep to be safe and reliable at this point vs flexing better and costing more $$, i can live with the db's and short arms.

i dont think that the YJ steering box would be any stronger than a stock durango or xj box.

Found this, Most places are $375 plus shipping. $345 plus s&h. I really dont want to start drilling shit to do 4 bolt. I already have a new inner brace installed and when i get my new front bumper that will have a built in steering brace for the out side. I will have the extra cash for this in a week or two and i need to fix it asap and i dont have access to a garage to do the install and drill, where as a bolt in would be much easier in the freezing fucking cold. (i did my durango box in the winter) i also want the added benefit of short turns lock to lock vs a stock setup. www.pscmotorsports.com/sg621m-tj-xj-yj-xtreme-duty-steering-gear-p-88.html

3:1 Fixed Ratio - YJ Box
The original 3 bolts line up. Shit... you don't even have to drill a hole. Wait until spring to drill/add the 4th.

Hmmm then maybe worth it if at least the 3 bolt up. i will look up the prices locally and as long as its a worth wile steering advantage i will do that and redrill the 4th hole in spring after the bumper is on and its warmer out. Would be nice to save that $$ if its that easy of a swap. thanks doug, i will look in to it this weekend.

I got the WJ knuckles and calipers today, putting the new YJ steering box in tomorrow and hopefully getting pads and rotors and blower ball joints next month for the steering install.

YJ steering box is in and the jeep steers 100x better now. It should be mint once i get me WJ knuckles and such in. Was a relatively easy swap too because i only put the durango box in about a year ago. I will drill out the hole and add a sleve in it in the spring for the 4th mounting hole, for now it bolts in exactly like a stock box.
side note, i compared the yj box to my durango box and they look identical except for the 4th bolt tab so no reason anyone should spend the extra bucks on a durnago box any more, just get a yj box.
