If you change to 33 splines the detriot has to be replaced(obviously) thus having to set up a new carrier(locker case) with your old bearings(if you can salvage them) and reshim the pinion and the case to make the contact pattern correct again because it is 1 in a million chance that your new case is the same as your old one so the contact pattern will probably be off. You can reuse your old gears if you must but they will be noisy as they have already worn in one spot and it is highly unlikely you will get close to the same spot when you set them up again. So essentially you will buy a new locker (500) new shafts (250 very conservative) and regear (100 or more) so for 850 you could get 33 splines or you could get alloyusa shafts 275 or so shipped from northridge4x4 and throw them in and save about 600 bucks.

Yea tha tis one of the top items on my list of things to do right now cause i dont want to have to check the fluid forever. That and the other pressing issue is my cat is over heating badly and its nearly new. (a year old) I just had to put a new clamp just after the cat and within two days the clamp is bright blue like when you burn metal or get it too hot. I think its clogged so i am going back tot he shop it was installed at to see if they will do sumtin about it cause on hot days like today its got awful hot in my jeep. besides that everything else is sort of pushed to the side do what i can when i can kind of stuff nothing too pressing to be done.
I put my gas tank skid back on today and this weekend i will have enough cash to get the tranny flush done (well needed) so that is a few more things off my list.

Made a little progress this weekend/ past week. The fuel pump is in and jeep runs better and starts on one turn now. I got a Die Hard Gold battery from SEARS and i am going to try and get something done about my shot Optima Yellow top. I reinstalled my gas tank skid and i fixed my swing arm and reinstalled it and my spare tire on my detours rear bumper.
Next week/ weekend i will concentrate on working on my exhaust routing plan and saving to get a set of Alloy USA D 44 axle shafts so my rear end will stop leaking out both axle seals. I also have some fluid stains around the breather coupler/hose too, i hope i dont have a build up of pressure or heat like will seems to have.
I will also change my pinion seal as soon as i get new shafts for it.
I will update my list as i finish things.

I got off work a few hours early today so i worked on the jeep a bit. I made little skids for my RE CA drop brackets and started to make LCA skids but ran out of cutting discs. They are 1/5" steel i had and i will hopefully finish cutting/grinding everything this week and possibly weld them on this coming weekend if i can borrow a welder. I am also going to weld my Drop brackets to the stock lca mounts and weld teh 3 pieces of teeh drop brackets that are bolted together, together. I have no plans to do long arms any time soon, because of lack of money an my jeep flexes pretty damn good but if i ever do it will still come off like its supposed to if i was doing a long arm kit and i had to cut off the LCA brackets. Not welding to the unibody rails just the old lca mounts so it will be a stiffer/stronger unit. I also drilled installed the pass side Unibody tie ins i made for the arb from the rest of the 1/4" steel i had. I am going to use these as tie ins and also make new D ring mounts tied right in to them since the arb mounts are less than satasifactory. Once thats all mocked up i will weld that all together so the bumper and mounts can be removed as one unit with full length tie ins. I still have to drill teh drivers side tie in and install it (more holes obv for teh steering box and need longer bolts for that) once thats in i will mock up the 3/4" steel i am going to use for d ring mounts that will be directly mated to the tie ins. After that my next fab project is to buy some Angle iron, remove my sliders and make unibody stiffening that will tie everything in from the rear spring perches to the LCAs and drop brackets. When i do that i will modify my sliders and weld them directly to the stiffeners and re bolt them to the pinch weld. Finally i need to finish fixing the little bit of rust holes i have in my floor over my exhaust like many jeeps. And redesign my rear upper shock mounts. These are the projects that i wish to complete by spring and do/fab 99% of the work myself to save money and get the experience. Built not bought. I still have a few bolt on repairs i need to so (such as replace my D44 shafts and fix my exhaust) but otherwise I think that is where my jeep will sta for a while and still be plenty capeable for RC trips and other trips in the future. I also cleaned the hell out of my WJ seats and now they are so soft and comfy i am going to pit seat covers on them to protect them now so they last longer. I used some great leather products like LEXOL leather cleaner and a green scotch bright pad, thats how we did it when i detailed cars a few years ago. Here are a few pics of the things i have finished. No more sway bar, stabalizer, and you can see the rach on my diff skid and the under side of the steering where i hit and rolled on that big ass rock at mabell, that steering is impressive. Temp exhaust fix till i redo the tail pipe, its so loud right now its annoying. 96 Washer bottle in my 98 now too, no more in fender fluid bottle ARB frame tie ins i made WJ seats before cleaning WJ seats after cleaning, soft and light tan now,

looks good Kyle, keep it up, slowly but surely is my philosophy... you are doing well. Ditto, i am trying to help my mpg's, and do the mods that will make it a better more reliable vehicle/wheeling rig and still kep it refined and comfortable enough for DD use. Thanks.

I am picking up my 3 canyons tomorrow and mounting them myself, then getting the 1 ravine sat and mounting that. I am gonna set the beads and mount them on the jeep sat and then get them balanced. Once i find a 4th canyon and 5th 33x10.50 my ravine will be the spare.

That sucks the rims you got were not in the condition as described. 150 for 5 canyons is a good deal.
