update.... the blue thing is still sittin on jack stands, wasting space in my garage. so.... my sister is giving me a 4 cly stratus for 250 bucks. and i have to many vehicles at this point in time. (truck, camaro, racecar, blue thing, red jeep) This is where i need to decide wat to get rid of so i can have room in my garage/yard. truthfully i dont have much time or money to work on the blue thing even though i love it. And it would be way more realistic to build my red jeep. it really suxs that i put alot of effort into this jeep but i realistically cant see myslef building 2 jeeps.  so this thread is going to soon turn into the progress of my red jeep. so the new plan for my red jeep is to keep it in running/moving condition while i build my d60 front and find a 14 bolt rear. so here is teh list of things i need to do to it. stiffen the unibody interior cage long arms d60 front 14 bolt rear raise the gas tank through the rear floor. this is going to be a slow build as it takes alot of money to build things properly. ive learned ALOT through the 2 jeeps ive gone through. and im pretty excited to get some actual axles under this beast. ill get some pics up later of the d60 i picked up, and in a couple weeks ill probably have a lil progress on the build up of it. |

i think you should sell the red one cause you can get some decent cash for it and use that to get the blue one finished up enough to wheel. then you will have a DD and a bad ass trail rig

i really dont think i could get much for the red jeep cuz no one would buy the damn thing....
and the blue thing would take more money to get wheelable cuz it needs a full custom cage and then all the stuff the red one needz and even more shit

the blue one looks good it makes me want to start my 95 project sucks you are going to sell it but i understand i have my lj and a 98 xj as a DD then a 95xj that was going to be a project but i am at the point you are that i don't know if it makes sence for me to have my LJ and a project cause you can only wheel one at a time  |

I made my own upper links. I took 2x4 1/4" wall. For the pumpkin side, I shaped it to fit the curves on the pumkin, then welded it to it.

so i got bored this morning and decided to go out and make some unibody stiffeners  its 3x3 angle 3/16s thick that i picked up for free courtesy of millstone nuke plant probably radioactive or something, if your wondering why a couple of the wholes are located different on each side, its cuz my unibody was to bashed in so i had to drill wholes where i could get a good weld to. also started work on a crossmember, basicly going to be something like claytons crossmember, nothin fancy |
