been on the back burner for a little while, i just got my np435 input bearing retainer back from my friends machine shop. The large diameter had to be turned down to fit inside the hole in the chevy bellhousing.

summer is rapidly approaching and i have been itching to get back into this.... today i started to work on my driveline again. put the custom machined input bearing retainer on using 5/16s x 1 allen head screws for the needed clearance. then i cleaned up the top cover and mounted the chevy belhousing. the input bearing centers the bellhousing. the top two bellhousing mounting holes on the ford tranny are very close to the chevy, so i elongated the holes sligltly and it bolted right up. The bottom two are not even close, so i am going to use 1 two 7/16" studs . heres a pic, you can see one of the top bolts

i also started working on the transfer case. I tore it down to pull the shift rails out to modify them for twin stick operation. The shift rail modification allows the use of rear wheel low as well as front wheel drive low and high. I could explain it but it is explained very well here www.wt4x4.net/tech/twinstick.htmheres my rear output shift rail mods twin stick mod: rear wheel low mod: A lot of people say that the d20 pops out of rear wheel low with the twin sticks so i added a little lip to the rear wheel low indent to help remedy that, welded a small bead and then smoothed it out
