well i needed something to do today so i messed with it a little. it has been living in the garage for the past week with the tub off. last night i dropped the transmission and transfer case and put the tub on. Today I messed with the steering and seats and stuff. I decided to try using the s10 steering column that i had here and it works excellent, but it took some modifying. 1st I swapped the dash bracket to a fullsize bracket. The fullsize is 5" between mounting holes, as is the flatfender body so it works perfectly Then I removed the firewall bracket with a hack saw Loosely installed I am going to make a new firewall bracket for the column to fit the flatfender tub eventually once i get everything (pedals, booster, clutch master) all mocked up also played with some steering boxes. Im probably going to go with a scout 2 box, it is a forward facing pitman arm and mounts outside the frame the steering shaft is out of a 96 cherokee with u joints at each end. I have to shorten it for my application thats it for now

is it just me or does it seem like the column stick reall far out and close to the seat? they stick out pretty far stock. that is about where the seat will be, maybe up a little higher and back a little farthe but there wasnt much leg room in jeeps made 57 years ago. in other words the steering column is actually a good length in relation to where the pedals will be but yes the steering wheel is very close to the seat in the pic. the hole where the steering column goes through the firewall needs to be lower so the whole column can tilt up more.

Your fucking dominating this thing. Do you have a job?! haha yea i work, i fix welders and plasma cutters so after fixing them all day im dying to use my own when i get home. I pretty much gave up drinking and going out all fall, so working on jeeps has been a good alternative. thanks for your concern tho!
