Ok so most of you know about how my jeep has been taking like 5+ seconds to crank on, and then running a little crappy till i start movin sometimes...I go out today, and sit there cranking for 10 seconds, try again anothrt 10 seconds. It just cranks and cranks and cranks. doesnt quicken or slow, the starter just keeps going and nothings happening. Could a sensor have finally bit the dust? i really need an OBDII scanner
last time this happened it was all distributor sync sensor, but that threw check engine codes, and this time around i have nothing

I had similar symptoms, I would tell you CPS crank position sensor.

its on top of te tranny. Looking ion and down the fire wall from the drivers fender, its on the drivers side top of the tranny, prolly two 10mm bolts hold it on and it has to be set a specific depth that a mark on the sensor indicates. arge hands = not happening. i would rather spend $120 at my mechanics to have it done than do it myself. Its a bitch. easier if you have a lift though.

When is the last time you changed your fuel filter? And you don't need a scanner. Any code that the engine has will show up by doing the key clicking method. If the check engine light is not on, you have no codes or the bulb is out.

If the check engine light is not on, you have no codes or the bulb is out. when was the last time you used a scan tool? there are loads of codes that dont set off a check engine light. dont speak if you dont know what the hell you are talking about. a CE light is triggered when the o2 sensor(s) detect 1.5 times the legal emissions and other vital problems, not a long cranking problem.

The fuel filter on a 97 + is in the gas tank as well. PIA

FPR can also be bad. Usually long crank issues are fuel related. Fuel filter, pump and FPR are usual suspects. Some people put the bmw check valve in the fuel line to hold line pressure but yours shouldn't need it.

Ok Will, use a scanner. I'll eat my words if it can pin point the reason why your jeep takes a long time to start.

even if it doesnt have a code, you can check the cps signal to verify if its good or not.

ok well i just went to 5 stores in the area, all but 1 did not have CPSs, and the one that did have it wanted 130 dollars, which im not going to pay for it. the most expensive ive heard before that was 90 and that was very high. (ive seen it go for 35 bucks)
so im fawked anyway as i dont have a scanner regardless or access to one
