i will soon be embarking on a magnificent journey.
my friend has a 1998 VW Beetle, and he doesnt drive it anymore. he has a motorcycle, and a mini cooper s.
he has a problem though. he lives above the flood plain, but just above it. meaning, it floods all around his house and he is stuck either in or out of it.
SO
this VW will be essentially buggy'd, but not too hardcore. enough to look more awesome, fit a 28-30" tire, and or course, a raised air intake.

is it gonna have thor guards? no, but it will have LED stop/turn/tails, or at least wrangler style trailer s/t/t lights. and the headlights are coming out in favor of some hellas.  |

a friend of mine had a badass gocart (fully caged) with a bug motor and a vw van transaxle. it was pretty bad ass we did 60 in it one time goin to get gas on a main road. Sadly when he went away to Weirdo tech in PA he scrapped it.

didnt get that much done today really.. more looking and thinking then cutting and cutting. but we did end up grabbing a set of tires from a few towns over on CL. sitting in the garage..  out, jump started and running  sans plastique lining  evap canister/fuel pump assembly? gonna be an issue. looks like it can be moved back a bit.  lol.  80 bucks - we got 4- just 3 in the pic    those tires are basically a 31x10.5. the back is pretty easy to lift- gonna get a pair of those autism zone spacers for 1" lift, and if we need to extend the shocks we can make some out of u-channel. next step is to get the vdub rims off, and get the uniroyals mounted on em so we can see how much of what needs to come off everything. |
