OK so i see tons of jeeps on here with 33 inch tires and 3 inches of lift....so how much do i have to cut out of my fenders to clear them and also how wide of a tire can i fit on the stock rim?? they are the stock aluminum 5 spoke wheels that come on a 99 cherokee classic.. So i know some of you guys are the real best of the best so thanx ahead for the info!!!

33x12.5 tires are best suited on a 15x8 rim...buttttt you can get away with them on the ones u have, which are 15x7...BUT...you need a wheel spacer on those stock wheels if you plan on using them...without wheel spacers your tires (if you run 12.5" wide 33s) will contact your leaf spring and when you turn it will rub on your control arms/unibody
a 1.25"-2" wheel spacer will suit you well for that
otherwise look to buy aftermarket 15x8" wheels.

As far as trimming goes, you can relocate the stock flares up a bit to keep a stock look or remove them all together, Check for local laws.
To trim, front trim along the bends in the fender that the flare used to cover. Rear do the same but make vertical slits around it and fold up with a hammer. There are threads on here in that go in to more depth.
Wheel spacers are great, i have 1.5" spacers on my 98 xj with 16x8 moab wheels and 35s for 3 years now with our any issue, just make sure to properly torque them, and they are only about $175 shipped most places. Much cheaper than new ugly black steelies. Alot of us on here have these setups nad many with stock wheels and spacers.

thanx for the great info! what size tires will fit on the stock rims without spacers? And no problems with the wheel bearings wearing prematurly? Also would flare cutting still be needed for like a 33x10.5 inch tire?

this is on a tj right??? 3 inch lift, no trimming and 33's. just minor bump stop adjustment.
get cheep 15x8's rims or look to get spacers or you will rub your control arm on full turn.
and with a 3 inch lift you can get away without using a SYE, try it first b4 you buy it.
if you are thinking longevity in addition to the 3inch suspension a 1 inch body/motor mount lift work great, it gets your oil pan away from the rocks and alows you to run a flat belly skid and helps with driveline angles.
this is a great set up for 33's and then when you upgrade your axles you can step up to 35's easy
