Lock tite

I have to reinstall my rear caliper brackets and brakes this weekend and after the last hardware set stripping out/loosening i am slightly nervous.

The replaces kit came with 2 sets of hardware, some use larger nylon inserted lock nuts and the other set of choice has the nuts that AFAIK are dimpled or oblonged so they are tight at the outer edge like a pinion nut ie. 1 time use only.

1. i think i should set # 2 right?

2. Should i put on red lock tight or possibly stronger lock tight?

They say red lock tight needs 500* of heating to get it off but i have loosened stuff with red lock tight on it with a standard 3/8th ratchet.

I am making sure this time that i am 110% right on with my torque specifications so i feel confident that this wont happen again. (this could have turned out with my wheel coming off my jeep had the loose bolts sheared.)


Also lastly, i have to change my rear pinion seal, What is the torque for a D 44 pinion nut?

d44 pinion nut yorue safe at anywhere between 210 and 260...its pretty general.

I have to get this rear axle shit done within the next week or so and my jeep is good to go... (until sumtin else breaks)
