Im not worried about the box ripping out, but rather, ripping apart. Its already kinda broken. It should hold up tho, so im not too worried.
the 4:10's were what came in the axles. Ill eventually jump up to the 5:xx sets when i get some more cash. at the moment, it doesnt seem like ill care too much, as i was running 35"s on 3:73's... 37"s on 4:10s cant feel too much different.
and I am still considering the stretch. I found a guy who did it the exact same way as I want to, and it seemed pretty straight forward. Id like to, but we'll see if ill ever have time for it.

Thanks for the link Mike, but the whole reason id do it the way I've been considering is that its the only real way to stretch it without relocating anything. all the kits out there need extensive work to relocate everything/fuel cells when done. ends up being more work then its worth in my opinion. Stretching from the middle rather than adding on to the rear is the way id go. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Alright, well, today started out with a witch hunt for OBA parts to hook up the rear locker. Kai came along with me for a ride and now knows why I'm reading "dont kill yourself" books. This is actually a direct quote after leaving the third store we went to looking for a brass adapter: Me: "Yo, you mind if we hit up one more place?" Kai: "No, Why the hell not! I got nothing better to do than be pissed off all day!" He was more fed up than I was that we couldnt find this damn piece. But finally, we made it work. This is what we came up with: Unfortunatly, due to a slight accident, it ended up breaking at the end of the night after the axle fell off of the jack stands, so i have to go out and buy more of those damn things tomorrow. but whatever. Im still pretty pissed about that, but oh well. Anyway, on a plus side, we found this awesome colored air line at 50' for $10. Started to place everything to figure out where things have to be tacked, and check clearances, and well, it was a little tight: So a little cutting, a bit of notching and ALOT of grinding later: and now it all seems to fit pretty nice. Tight clearances, but Im happy with it: Other than that, I finished cleaning up some parts and began to prime them, while in the mean time Hawk welded a plate over that sensor hole that was in the housing: Thats all we could get done for tonight, as I need that elbow to be installed before the truss can go on. Hopefully tomorrow we can get a test fitting on the jeep. that would be nice, but who knows...

Time for the weekend update: So, got a decent amount done this weekend. lets see, painted some, cleaned up/sandblasted a bit, made it nice and shiny. Got everything tacked on so we could do a test fitting: and we messed with the control arms a bit to see where we were at: After that Hawk got to welding: I gave it a go too So as it sits now, I need to run brake lines, prime, paint, adjust the control arms some more, as the pinion angle is too low. unfortunatly I think I need to get my driveshaft shortened which blows, but what ever. If anyone knows a good place to go, give me a heads up. other than that, Im just gonna have to get a new yoke for it, tap a breather and throw it in. Then, on to the front! All in all, a pretty good weekend, with of course, the exception of catching myself with the cutting wheel... yeah, that sucked... annnd, I leave you all with a bonus pic:

Getting there. Heres where Im at. I wanted to get the rear in today, but ran out of steam. But tomorrow is another day, and I think it will be a good one. Primed: Painted: And then the new Streets: 36"x14.5" old and new: And a teaser: Thats all for now, but like I said, tomorrow is another day. although, I did find this: I was wondering why there was a rusty... squeeking... (sort of like hearing something vibrating with metal on metal)sound. Ive been hearing it since like last summer. I pull the rear driveshaft and find this: One of the U-joints was missing all the needle bearings. it has like 10 degrees of play. I know ive wheeled on it quite a bit too. Im amazed it held up whoops!
