The day I spend 1000 bucks for one axle is the day I get out of jeeping the day i spend 5 grand on an engine is the day i slap myself in the face with my own shoe. But you like slow cars. I don't mind spending lots of money on the car. I take care of it and drive it lots. The jeep just about everything can be made/done from scratch so I tend to have no cash into it. 5000 bucks is very cheap for a big block makin lots o powa.

Yea but not everyone had the shop/tools/skillz that you have. I think its great when ppl do their own work and build a rig totally them selves but not everyone can do that and i do make as much as i can but major engine work and gears are not something i can do. I dont even have a garage to use so all my work is done on a very uneven and often very cold or very hot drive way.

Why are people cutting up my hobby? When you get into it and are a little bit knowledgeable then you can tell me I got ripped.
In the mean time let Kyle's thread stop being hi-jacked.

It just amazes me to see what people charge for realistically 2 hours of work. I've never priced out having axles rebuilt so I have nothing to compare it to.

Its all good corey. I agree its alot, and i only take my jeep to a shop when i absolutely have to, i hate letting others work on my jeep.
Any who, updates.
Hopefully this weekend i will be getting my unibody stiffeners installed and then welding my sliders to them and bolting to the pinch seam. We are also going to weld in the piece of 3.5" Exh tube that i am going to put through my pass side rear 1/4 panel (below the seams in the bod through the sheet metal and the 1/8" wrap around from the detours bumper) Then i will re route my exhaust tight against the unibody (with heat shielding) and though the leafs out the new hole with a 3" tip. This way i will not drag my exhaust on the ground any more, it will give it a cool custom look and is barely costing my anything, It would only get damaged if i hit that 1/4 panel. AND yes there is enough clearance for the pipe through the leaf at full stuff.
Also ordering Bilstein 5100 rear shocks friday and before spring i am gonna do a set of Bilstein 5150's up front.

You will see it as soon as its done.
Its just a 3.5" hole in the rear 1/4 then re route the tail pipe tight to the floor and out through the leaf up as high as possible. It will look sick and function great.
Should be done by next weekend, i am getting it as an early B day gift, and a local shop is putting in the new muffler and tail pipe, Fully welded 2.5" pipe muffler back, Magnaflow or Dynomax muffler, Cat is good so that does not need replacing, then next summer they are going to put in a Banks header and new down pipe to replace my crushed one, (note to self make a DP skid).

Today i ordered, 2 255/70 8" Bilstein 5100's for me jeep 5 to 7 business days.
I also installed my newly rebuilt Tom Woods rear drive shaft.
Hopefully if all goes well my stiffeners will be welded in, tieing in my rock sliders and my drop brackets and braces and getting that hole done for my exhaust.
Wish me luck this weekend.

Update. Today we drilled the hole in my rear 1/4 for the exhaust and john welded it in for me. He took a good look at my unibody stiffeners and my front bumper and we came up with a good plan on how to beef up the ARB and put in new tow points as well as what we are going to do when we install the stiffeners. Basically this winter after x mas i am going to go back to his shop and we are going to weld in the unibody stiffeners. Weld them on and then weld the rock sliders to those. then weld the RE drop brackets to the unibody and the stiffeners. I am going to get the front end unibody stiffener plated doug posted and we will weld them to the unibody. Then we are going to put box tubing down the unibody rails/horns and tie that in to the new stiffeners and the bumper tie ins. Then make new mounts on the bumper to mount the arb and its tieins together. Sounds like a cluster fuck but it will be pretty easya nd he is a certified welder and has some very nice work. This is the hole for the exhaust that will be installed next week i hope. Just needs a final coat of paint. I used filler to smooth out some of the roughness around the hole, it just needs a final coat of paint. Used a 3.5" hole saw and lined it with 3.5" pipe and at 3" tip will come out the hole with 2.5" pipe cat back. His beast, yj D 60s frenched frame coil over front, 8.1 Vortec V8, 39.5s H! wheels He is a really nice guy and really wants to help me get my rig up to par.

also, do you plan on going full width? What front 44 came in a bronco, isnt it full width?
If not but you want beefier axles, you could do what I did and get a waggy 44 and j10 44 rear.
