so...im gonna start gettin this thing in gear to be registered. needs a new crossmember...and something with the exhaust.
I assume the reason it is so fucking loud right now is because the header manifold is cracked badly...i havnt been able to see if that is it though.
So let us assume it ISNT the header manifold, and it isnt the actual exhaust under the jeep, as the sound resonates mostly from the engine bay area...what could be the cause of this exhaust/loud ass engine noise? right now the downpipe is hardly connected to the manifold but when i do connect it back up the sound barely goes away at all...i want/need this thing quieter for road use.
also anyone feeling generous with a welder...i need some very small work done

I can't imagine this making that much noise but if the manifold gasket was shot it would make some noise. Otherwise you're looking at cracks in the manifold like you said.
The gasket leaking would sound more like a ticking though or an airy sound if really bad.

it just sounds basically like an open headered annoying ass POS lol...im banking on it being a fawked exhaust manifold

Definately, Justin's was cracked in two spots and had around a 1/4" gap between one of the tubes, so it was freakin loud. Maybe your case. Oh and while we're on the subject of DM I no longer need to steel your red bucket seats as I have acquired a very nice set and they reside inside of my jeep.

I love hidden issues. Especially with title/DMV stuff. Still not sure if my registration went through...
