The rear end on my jeep has gone. It's still driveable but the die of its demise is near. I have a chrysler 8.25. I need something i can bolt right in and not worry about. Right now the rear end is locking around turns and it makes my jeep hop. I can do a burn out and it stays locked too. Thats the only cool part! I need a rear end ASAP. Id go to a junk yark but i have absolutely no knowledge about this stuff

Just find out your axle ratio and go get a cheap 29 spline 8.25 and bolt it in. www.car-part.comMarks has one for $185 and Bill's have one for $225. 3.55 open.

Yeah hold out for the 44. You can wait 2 weeks or 2 years. Then chances are that it wont have a matching ratio. So figure another $1000 for gears and install. Not to mention it will need all new brake parts. If you want to drive your Jeep just get a direct swap 8.25. Phil does great on his.

When I say brakes I mean, drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, brake lines. Who knows how the old harware is and if the wheel cylinders are good. Plus an old 44 will probably need bearings. Just trying to give the guy a realistic view of what he is up against. I paid $225 for my 44 then another $200 for brakes and bearings.

I just put the bumper in my Jeep if you still want it. The old DS I had is gone. I must have thrown it out.

If you do happen to stumble upon another 8.25, just make sure its 29 spline. you mine as well have a D35 if you get a 27 spline.
