If I can recommend something, I would say wait on the lift. I see you have shackles and 31's, you may want to think about a 1" body lift to help clear those tires. Its cheap, easy, keeps your center of gravity lower. Also, there is no sense spending 400-500 on a lift if you can clear your 31's anyway. I would say put that money into a front locker like an aussie or something. If you are planning on larger tires in the near future then yea a lift is a good idea. I think that if your jeep does well right now, get a little more clearance with a body lift and throw a few hundred into a front locker. I think once you put a front locker in, your jeep will drive like a completely different vehicle. Before you spend 400+ bucks on a lift, what are you trying to accomplish? Height, tucking your tires, lift for your tires in the future. All Im saying is think about other options that just a lift if you are looking for better performance from your jeep.

i am lookin to fit bigger tires, i have no problem fitting 31's right now, also i cannot stand the look of the giant shackles, they get caught up on logs and rocks and leave my tire stranded off the ground. advice to anyone looking to lift using shackles, don't go much more than an inch or so or you will run into the same problems i am facing. It is by far the cheapest way to lift your vehicle but in this case it is definately true that you get what you pay for.

how big of tire, and what are you willing to do to your jeep?
new axles? re-gear? sye - and cv driveshaft? flat fenders/or cutting ect.....
after 33" tires it starts to get more complicated
