i;ve see tj's with leaf fronts and coil rears (for simplicity and stability when going to one tons)
but why on earth you would swap in leafs and make them sprung under is beyond me.
eh.... if i think about it to much my head will explode.
have any pics of the entire jeep and your shackle angles at ride hight??
cool jeep though...... different. i would be interested in going wheeling with it and seeing how it works, oh wait i've wheeled with a yj b4, stiff as a bastard and no flex ;D

OK, I understand the more stable aspect of the leafs, but that also equates to less flex. What kind of wheeling do you enjoy? I hope not rocks with that setup. Welcome to

this is madness......
there was a guy a while back with a tj in JP magazine that had leaves and flexed like F'n crazy, so I wont knock his idea.

leafs can be made to flex plenty, it's just approach/departure angle your losing as well as increased axle wrap.

Welcome to the site. Im glad you are doing what you like...
With that said, going from coils to leafs is a step backwards. You lose the ability to adjust pinon angle with adjustable upper control arms. You will get more axle wrap with a leaf sprung suspension. A rear Anti-Rock would help out with stability and traction over a leaf sprung conversion. Along with that, why the high pinion rear diff? If for driveshaft clearance, great. If for strength over a low pinion, it would only be benefitial in the front since a reverse cut gears in a rear axle run on the coast side making them not as strong. Along with the rest of the site that has a clue, Im lost right there with you!
