I wanna take the hydrolic hood opener off a crown vic i just totaled and put it into my jeep , anyone think its possible?

I have a reverse hood hinge set w/ gas struts off of a BMW that i plan to use on my CJ hood... someday... so i say your setup is more than likely possible DOOOOOOoooo EEEEttt!

ive seen it done with xj lift struts. but ya gotta stop and think. is it even worth it? It's not like its something heavy or anything. just seems like time wasted to me.

I have use lift gate struts on my xj before and done it, it works real nice, no more burnt hand on hot days but you deff need one on each side and it took about an hour to do it, all you need are two struts, 4 of the ball things they mount on and a drill. i am doing it to my 98 this summer when its warmer out.

its very possible, just take the struts and however they attach to the hood take those and move all hardware to your jeep. I think most xj rear hates use like a ball that fits into the end of the strut... would be very easy to do. better to use the hood struts though, they are probably rated higher then the rear gate struts

a xj rear hatch weighs quite a bit more than a xj hood. im sure a single strut may be adequate while dual= intense

thats a good idea but wuts thos pistons push up to cuz that xj hoods pretty heavy
