I have a bunch of tube or pipe or whatever this ish is. and I want to make rails similar to these. www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=920750&highlight=tube+rock+railsInstead of making the bent piece attach to a straight piece, do u think I could just make a piece with 2 90* bends in it to go from the "frame rails" out the the rocker and back to the frame rail again. Its hard to describe but picture a really long bottomed U and then a straight piece of tube to strengthen it in between and then the standard pinch seam reinforcement and flat plates for attachment.

That really doesn't look that strong. But yes you could do that with no issue. You should put in a straight piece to add strength. P.S. You uncle's ladder rack was a disaster.

Poor fitment. Fitment is 99% of fabrication. Its hard to fill 1/4 gaps with a TIG. If everything butted up really nice that shit would have been nickles.

So i decided I am gonna make some kinda like these, but I got some thicker material I am gonna go measure all the lengths and thicknesses and then figure out what design I want to make based on those measurements.

mine are 3/16" AJ's rails (99.9% identical to JCR). theres a baseball size dent in there now, any smaller tube and my shit would be fucked. basically the all weight of the jeep is on that 2 square inches of slider.

I got some real thick stainless, but only have enough for one side but I still haven't even gone out and measured everything out there in my jeep, until I do that I dunno what to do
