I am going to make some rocks rails. May do a pictorial as I build tomorrow. I bought all the steel today. Holy shit its expensive. I get it from a local guy. It was $100 and he cut a break at $85. I still need the tubing for the out side. Another $20 I would imagine. Anyway. As I build I will take pictures if anyone cares.

Build on my man. My JCR sliders that you like are made from 2"x3" 3/16" wall. The tube on the outside is near 1 7/8".

All I could get is 3x2 1/8" wall but it should be plenty stout. As it sits the weight is going to be substantial.

id love to see some pics to see how this comes out
how familair are you with jeep fabrication? just askin so we arent suggesting things that may already be obvious to you
make sure you get the strip on the rails supports that mounts to the pinch seem underneath otherwise their support will be minimal, and 4 self tappers per leg mount seem to be ideal

I am almost done with them. I still have to put on the pinch seam piece. Fabrication is 90% common sense. I looked around to all the companies I could find, to find some good pics. I mocked them up on my truck. I build on the fly for the most part. I need to get some tubing for the outside. These are the Stage 57.0897584 version I tapered the ends and still have to cap them. They are coming out nice so far. My camera ran out of batteries halfway through and I'm about out of Argon. 100% TIG welded baby!

Well here they are so far. May get some time on them tomorrow but my argon is almost out. I may bend up some tubing tomorrow to make them Stage 4 billion. On to the pics. Here is how I mocked the rail against the rocker. I figured they should be out a bit to protect better. More mock up. Fun fact. The front arm is 9 1/2" while the rear is 10" to keep the rail even with the rocker line. The mounting plate on the rear is also offest to stay with the unibody lines. Close up on welds. Here I am so far. Need the pinch seam and the outside tubing. Not bad for a little time investment. They should do the job. I will get some more pics with the seam bar and the tubing when its all mounted. Thanks David

dude Fawkin badass welds but just one question why did u tig weld steel? dont u have a mig machine??? To be honest, I'd much rather TIG than MIG. I feel I have a lot more control. I have a Lincoln SP135 Mig. I have used it a handful of times. Just mainly for Civic/Integra traction bars. Since I bought my new TIG, thats all I have been using. Thermal Arc Pro Wave 185 FTW! I bought a 10 LBS box of 3/32 Mild Steel filler rod. I figured I should stock up cause I still have front and rear bumpers and a tire carrier to do for this Jeep. I was going to build a roof rack but for the price I will just buy the Surco.

Thanks. Once these are done I am going to start on a bumper. I have to decide if I want to do a winch bumper. I don't know when I will buy one.....Well that was easy. Rear bumper it is!
