how much do you guys trim XJ fenders and do you measure them out with anything in particular (other then a tape measure/ruler)??
i am getting ready to trim them back soon so i was just looking for input

yea phils is sick I cut wills one time freehand
Just get some painters tape(or a marker) and draw some lines and see what you like best

personally Sawzall. The xj has enough room to use the sawzall with ease. The grinder would work well too so long as you have a good steady hand . I used a grinder the first time i flatfendered my tj and it worked for me. But for most people its to messy.
Dremel will give you good results but its a total pita changing wheels constantly and slow as heck. jigsaws are goofy used vertically.
i saw break out a sawzall high speed but push slowly.
I love cutting fenders as you may be able to tell. Look at my fullwidth one ton build in fab shop if you wanna see pics of my rear fenders cut

I would use an air body saw. I have one kicking around here somewhere.

I used a sawzall at first and it was a mess. I did the rest with an angle grinder and it was much easier. its still a mess but only because I rushed it and not because of the equipment used.
