right now im leanin towards the RC 4.5...... I know i should go wit the RE, but i really cant afford it, plus its not as complete as the RC kit. The only money ive got for it is what I make from selling my '88, which will hopefully be $600 if someone buy it.... (ps check the For sale section...)

how is the rubicon express 4.5" kit not as complete as the Rough country 4.5" kit?
and the rough country 4.5" kit is garbage. i personally know 2 people who run it. one (dan94xj on this board) has gone through 3 of his 4 shocks in 8 months, had his trackbar bracket loosened up many times and eventually had to weld it to his axle, and cut it out whenever he swapped in a new axle. His 4.5" leaf packs now sit at about 2". your better off doing it once and saving yourself the aggrivation in the future.
Plus if you plan on wheeling the re kit has stronger/ flexier components.

I say it is more complete becuase it comes with at least something for the tracbar, which i will probably weld on. I guess i got fooled, the RC picture just looks like its got a lot more in it. I dont have an extra $200 for an adjustable tracbar on top of the $150 more that the RE 3.5 already is.

oh your talking about the re 3.5"?
i thought it was 4.5" kit versus 4.5" kit.
i wouldnt do anything larger than 3" from rough country.

Yea its the RE 3.5 shipped for $720, or the RC 4.5 shipped for $570. Why no larger than 3" for RC? Their 3" kit only has like springs, coils and shocks or something, not sure what kind of deal I could get on it. Ill find out.

dont get the add a leaf. unless youwant to buy that then buy full packs in a few months.
i just wouldnt trust rc components at anything higher than that. their lca's use stiff poly bushings which could in turn tear off link mounts. the trackbar drop bracket is a joke as well. you will need to buy brake hoses too.
and unrelated: you will most likely need an sye

No no no, I'm not thinking of ass-a-leaf at all, those kits and prices are what I was quoted from DC4WD for Full Packs. And im gonna try angled shims and a tcase drop for now, to at least put off the sye for a while.

I thought I could keep the SYE off for another year or so. well.. My Driveshaft shot off the yoke at about 55mph. NOT COOL. I had to get out in moderate traffic, at night, walk about 75feet back down the highway to pick it up, and limp it home in FWD. I thought, well it runs fine without it. blah blah blah. 4.5 RC kit = Need SYE. 3.5RE kit = bliss. Definitley, you want to compare the RC4.5 to the RE4.5 and see that RC falls much shorter with their "kit". The RE Costs more. but you really have to think about and realize what something is worth, and not necessarily how much it costs. If this is a hobby you want to get into, believe me, you do, it's a lot of fun, you're going to want the right equipment. Compare it to Ice Skates. Do you buy the Nice Bauer Hockey skates that you're going to be comfortable in and can skate well in, or do you buy Figure skates that were cheaper, cause they suck? In this case it's about WORTH.

What is the difference between the RE 3.5 Superflex and Supperride (full pack kits)? Is it just the bushings in the CA's? I don't have the money for the Superflex, ulness I just get the AAL for now which I dont wanna do. The Superride I can get for $720 shipped w/ shocks tho, so i guess thats what I'll do. Its not a stiff as hell kit is it? What do you think it will really give me for height (I dont have bumpers yet or even a full spare)

the superflex kits have superflex joints in the arms, which will allow better articulation. the superride though is more than fine for your kit, they use rubber bushings everywhere. RE 3.5 i reckon will give you around 5" right off the bat (in the rear at least) and then settle down, it varies.
