I am hoping to buy or make a pair of rock sliders on a tight budget. i was looking around and saw a set of rocker guards which were 3/16" steel flat stock bended to form the shape of the rocker. If i went to a scrapyard and picked up the materials could i make them pretty easily? Should i use self tapping screws directly into the rocker or weld the plates onto the rocker and seal the edges with RTV? any advice would be helpful. also recommendations on good cheap rock sliders would be appreciated. thanks.

you will need to tie them into your frame unless you like the idea of your floor and orcker getting crippled from the slider. oh and this cheapest rocker protection around www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/

ill second that, though AJ is next to impossible to get in contact with. i spent a month trying all means i could, he never did return a single mail or PM or anything. so i ended up with JCR sliders. theyre both basically the same quality, JCR is just more established, and a little more money

phil never ran them. he bought them, never installed them and wheeled until his rockers were no longer worth protecting
