Alright so my reverse lights arent working and I think its park/neutral switch (also the reverse switch). now I know you can take them apart and repair them if you do it right (i'm not paying napa $275 for a new one) but im having an issue getting it off the shaft and I dont want to break it. has anyone ever done this before or have any knowledge or tricks on getting that switch off the tranny in 1 piece??? I'm trying to get it inspected for Mabelle and i feel im running out of time. i'm going to check ALLDATA at school today and see if there is somethign im doing wrong but any added input would be GREATLY appreciated.  |

i just used vice grips and spun it off. it wasnt hard really.
i dont know how easy it is to repair the switch yourself though, probably be better off going to a junkyard.
in my situation, both my lights didnt work so i figured it had to be the switch. was just ready to buy a new one , and then i decided ill just change the bulb first.
changed both the bulbs and sure enough, they had burnt out at the same time and it wasnt the switch.

1156 bulbs, had the same problem

well i already took both he bulbs out and checked the filaments... they looked fine so i put them to a battery and sure enough they both lite up... so its deffaintlyu not the bulbs... its either the switch itself or a relay controlling the reverse lights

alright well somehow i fixed the problem cuz i brought the rig back to my mechanics tonight and aparently the rear lights work... so i somehow saved myself a lot of money for parts and labor so that another positive other than the fact that im almost positive i will now make the mabelle run on the 29th
