Started today changing my clutch. First time ive ever done it, so its taking alittle longer than expected. Took about 3 hours to get all the wires, vent tubes, ect disconnected, take exhaust off, driveshafts off, tranny/tcase removed.
Was a total pain in the ass getting the last 2 bell housing bolts of the top .
Quick question. The dust that came pouring out when i pulled the clutch off, thats not good to breath in right? Am i gonna get cancer from that crap?
While i have everything removed, was planning on doing some rust removal and prevention and doing some rubberized undercoating. Any tips for this?

Im not sure about the clutch, but if I recall correctly, they do not use an asbestos material in the clutch disk...I could be wrong though. As far as undercoating, I would advise against rubberized undercoating. It deteriorates with petrolium products on it (leaking engine oil for instance) and it can contain bubbles. The idea is that water will not get behind it and no rust will occur. If you have air bubbles or a surface that doesnt accept it well, you will be doing more harm than good. Water will get trapped in there and rust will occur quicker that with it not on. I recommend using Bill Hirsch paints. Available at your local Napa, there is a Bill Hirsch Undercarriage Paint that will lock out water. If it is anything like Bill Hirsch Miracle Paint that is on my frame, its durable as hell!
