whats the best way to go with a trac bar, ive seen everything from straight bars, to funky bends, and ones that seem to bend to clear the axle. i want to make my own. i was thinking make a drop bracket and use a hiem joint but what shape do i make the bar? would straight be good for the road? its a dd

didnt you already make some fancy one with an adjuster sleeve in it?
and the bends are only there for clearance purposes.
and the least funky bends in it the stronger it will be.
But if you want to go with a perfectly straight bar you would at least need to modify your existing axle end bracket as it has that protruding lip that only lets the axle droop so much.

and the more parallel you make it to your draglink, the less bump steer you will experience

i did make a "fancy" one with an adjuster in it but its still not as good as it can be. i think i may just make a drop bracket on the upper mount and then get another end like the lower mount and weld it on.
would a bad trac bar contribute to vibes?

yes a trac bar contributes to vibes, I actually bought a superlift adj bar on ebay for like 67$ brand new with a heim on one end and bushing on the other, I just made another bushing end that I am going to try out next weekend to see how that does to eliminate the rest of my vibes.

Clayton's trac bar is excellent too. I like it because it uses Currie Johnny Joints which are greaseable and rebuildable.
