Rich, with a grinder or something with thin blade. make a mark on one carrier bearing accross it width wise. Continue this line to the axle housing where the cover sits. You don't have to go deep, just enought to line everything up On the other cap, do the same thing but make two lines. This will ensure that the caps are allways in the right position and will go on correctly every time.

not sure. Never had a problem with Yukon. And the way I drive is not easy.

what are you doing for gears? 4.56's or 4.88's havnt made up my mind yet.. my worry about the 4.88's is them breaking because the pinon is smallll..

I can attest to that, twice. Too little contact to the ring gear on the 30. However if you don't get a front locker or don't go over 33 with a locker, you'll be fine. Anything bigger than 33's with a front locker and 4.88s is not a good idea.

I'd personnally go 4.88s if you know that your sticking with 33s

I had no idea anythign was bad inside it.
well i guess it doesnt matter too much seeing that your just stripping it out anyway to put new stuff in.
