so as some of you know my distributor is on its way out/shot
it squeels. and then tries to die the jeep off when i come to an idle.
would replacing the cap and rotor effectively solve a problem like this or am i looking to replace the whole thing basically?
ive heard varying answers already, lets hear some specifics
i wanna do it sunday whatever it is i need to do

to do a auto store say u need a distributor for ur year it come with the cap. and when u change it might want to do wires and spare plugs too . its easy to do just do one wire at a time and ur set

im asking so i dont have to do the whole thing and you forgot about the little part about getting the timing right or having to reset it
