The dana44 I'm swapping in has locking hubs.
I know spools arent reccomeded in front. But it will be invisible when Unlocked.
I'll lock the hubs for the trail.
Will my turning radius suck offroad on loose surfaces?

it will suck unless you get some sort of hydroulic steering.

Just do it, it's cheap and strong. eat your spinch to compensate for the steering. ;D

added stress on everything
my accidental spooled rear would make everything creak and twist and just be shitty

but will it still even rally matter if he had lockouts? i thought they comletely disengage the hubs from the axles so they are like free wheeling.

Do it man. Spool the front, and run the Detriot full case you just bought in the rear. That would be sick. Seriousley, with the hubs, it would be a nasty setup!

I just thought it would be a good idea, seeing that the spool in front would be invisible with the hubs unlocked. Cheap effective locker. This jeep will still see a bit of street time which made me rule out the rear spool. I have the rear 44 done, and brackets for the front 44 are in the mail. I went with www.ballisticfabrication.com and got everything I need minus tracbar mount for $60.
