My welder came in today, a Hobart 140 amp. Shoud to what i need it to do. and I just found matching waggy dana 44's for $150 which I will be picking up this weekend ;D so does anyone have any suggestions on what brackets to use to bolt the front 44 into an xj? mainly looking for coil buckets and tracbar mount. oh, and wtf is the dancing lock for?

the bad part about re is you have to shell out about $400 for it.
I am planning on some sort of truss to go over the pumpkin. But I can make my own lca mounts and I don't need a pass side uca mount.

you can buy a truss from re its pretty sick. or you can also buy their full kit for 400. claytons however are the absolute nicest brackets ive ever seen. and there is NOthing that hangs under the axle. when he says high clearance he means it Thats why im not worried about shellin 400 for em. Its worth it.

the clayton setup is pretty slick. But I think I'm gonna make my own lower tabs. and try to Use my stock coil buckets and make them work. I'm also thinking about stretching my wheelbase a tad bit while I'm at it. will make room for bigger tires without making contact with my feet.

Clayton brackets all the way. Everyone who sees them say "Damn, thats diesel!". The only bad thing is that they come in pieces and you have to weld them together and then weld them on your axle. But if you want rock solid mounts made of 1/4" steel, go that route! I had Clayton weld them on for like $400. He has a jig that he puts the axle in and goes to town on. I would recommend that because if you are running a Waggy 44 front (like I am), you need some serious heat to weld the driver side upper control arm mount on to the pumpkin. Plus, you must cut part of the driver side pumpkin to accept the brackets, then weld the axle tube to the housing. But if you are up to welding that up yourself, by all means go for it! Just so you know, if you do go Clayton, you also need to relocate the breather tube so plan on drilling the axle for a new line before you install it (I found that out the hard way). If you want to check out what they look like just let me know and you can swing down here. It will be the exact same as yours because I can take my axle out and put it under and XJ, TJ, or ZJ now.
