Is it a bad idea to use 3" Rustys 180LB springs, that ended up sitting at 4" and using the Teraflex Spacers from a 2" BB Kit so that I can be at 6?" I will be installing the RE Drop Brackets and Braces as well...
The back is sitting at 4.5" so I will use the 1.5" Shackles, and I know that is not a bad idea, because then It will still flex good.
Anyone do this? Run a 3" kit with a 2" BB and acheive 5-6"?
I am going to be running 35's and I want to do that. Along with: Adj Trac Bar (Installed) Quick Diskos (Installed) JCR 1 Ton Steering Ford 8.8 Rearend with LSD (Already Have It) 4.88 Gears Front and Back SYE Longer Brake Lines Bumpstops
I think that would be good? Anyone have anything to add that I am forgetting?

Where do i know you're member name from? go introduce you're self! hes from NAXJA if i were you, seeing as you need to reweld perches and shit anyway, i would get TNTs ubolt eliminator perches, which can net u either .5, 1.0, or 1.5 inches of lift, and maybe their boomerang shackles to complete it. www.tntcustoms.com

what up geno?
you have seen my setup. 3" springs 2" spacers.
and my springs are the rustys 150 lb.
no ill effects.
just bumpstop properly. your springs will wear out from overcompression from the spacers kinda quick (that's why I'm down to 4")

the drop shackles there are meant for the leaf spring to ride higher than the shackle mount, unlike our xj's.
what does this mean? Like I said before, those shackles will get you lift, but they arent constructed as beefy as other aftermarket lift shackles.
Though I have never seen it myself, have heard of them cracking and twisting from the added stress before.
and when you go around corners and such those weaker shackles may flex a bit changing where your axle sits under the body.
It's enough reason to make me spend the extra 20 bucks and get some beefier lift shackles.
