you might have to change the carrier depending on what gear ratio you have in your axles. Im not sure what the cut out is for dana 30 and 35's. It also depends on what time of locker you go with. You can get an Aussie, Power Trax etc and they go inside the carrier as opposed to a Detroit Locker that is the carrier and locker in one. Yes, you have the same ratios front and rear, and if you gear one axle you have to do both. Otherwise the transfer case will break. 4.88's will be really good I think. The 4cyl you can wind right up and they hold together really well. Be prepared to spend a few bucks for a regear though. Plan on spending $200+ PER AXLE just for the labor, not including gears and master install kit. It can be pricey. In all honesty, dont dump ANY money into your rear axle. The Dana 35 is better served as a paper weight. It is crap really. They have a notorious reputation for being weak. Dont put any money into it when it will most likely fail you at the most inoportune time. Ya know the saying "Ya can't polish a turd!" That fits it perfectly.

you should have 4.10 gears right now with the 4 cyl, and 4.88's are waht you are going to want. teh carrier for the 30 is the one that can take up to 4.88 already and like steve said dont even mess with the 35 just go and find a tj 44.

no matter what axles u have in your jeep the front and rear gear ratio MUST MUST MUST be the same, dont do a cheap locker in the front, it will be hell to drive on the street, just get the 488s and a aussie locker for the rear and you'll be a very very respectable offroad vehicle... unlike jeffs jeep
