Hey guys. Just got my lift on my TJ. It's about 3.5 inches higher now, and I was wondering if driving with a factory driveshaft will hurt anything for A while until I get the SYE on there? I get a pretty good vibration through 2nd, 3rd, and a little of 4th, but after that, you really cant hear anything. Just want to make sure I wont hurt anything driving like this. Thanks.

worst case scenario is the tcase splits in half, but it should be ok for a couple days.

did you put in a t-case drop? it should be ok for a bit if you did i know people that run lifts without a sye and just the drop kit and they just go through driveshaft u-joints at a good clip. shouldn't do much more then that with only 3.5 inch lift

I cant stand the spacers and crap and having to relocate the 4x4 shifter. So is this bad or can I get away with it for a bit?

not kidding. Cody (Saharicon)'s tcase blew apart a couple months back.

i wouldnt fool around with driveline stuff like that personally..get a drop on it for the time being until u can do a sye

Now I'm guessing he split his transfer case and all that because he lost a u-joint which caused the driveshaft to take it out? Am I correct? Because mine doesn't bind up, and I dont go more than 10 miles from my house at any time. I have a SYE on the way, but I just want to know if it will be ok UNLESS I lose a u-joint for like another week? If I HAD to I could get rides from my dad to work, but I'd rather drive.

I would do the drop and then take it out once you get your sye... only takes a few mins. also, if ur worried, check yout u joints every so often to make sure they are in good shape. as said above, vibes can mean bad shit... even with no vibes, if your angles arent too great, you can end up with issues down the road with u joints blowing apart prematurely

ON an xj yes youd be fine, on a tj no id never do it. At least put in a t case drop until you do an sye and shaft.

Ok, I guess I'll keep the driving to a minimum! Like I said, I have a SYE on the way, so when I get it in, I'll just drive around FWD ricer style until I get a driveshaft. Thanks for the help guys. And by the way, look at his muffler!! Haha, definately was the driveshaft swinging around! Man that sucks, but I hope it's fixed now.
