I wanted to take my bike out but I tried getting it out of the backyard and my yard is really long. Bike is in the shed at the back and I can't get through the snow. But I might shovel a path and get it out. I ain't no puss!

I looked at 883's and couldn't find anything around here that really caught my eye. I'm mostly looking for something reliable that I can put a lot of miles on. There were a few sportsters listed around here but most were either from the 80's or 90's. There was one or two that were really in mint condition, but the sellers wanted 5,000+ for them and I can't swing that. The Honda might not be as badass, but they're a good bang for the buck. my friend picked up an 03 883 for 2800.. with 3200 miles.. the deals are out there you need to look for them.. if you rode a honda or yamaha and then the harley you would notice a dramatic differnce.. and im not just try to justify my bike.. the sportster is a very reliable motor... it has been around for years and is a very simple and easy to make horse power...

Shadow 750 everything you see on that bike is plastic.. all the covers that are "chrome" are plastic. 0 build quality.. and resale sucks as well...

I really don't care what the resale is or if that stuff is plastic or not. I want a cheap, reliable bike to ride and I found one that is in excellent shape. I don't even have a motorcycle license yet. There is no point in customizing something up and down if I have to wait another 4 months before I even think about riding. And then when I DO START riding I have all summer to continue learning and practicing the basics. There is no point in diving straight into this thing. Its my first bike and I'm going to ride it till it falls apart, the same that many people do with their first cars.

Hey, I like the bike you chose and that comes from a guy who rides a sport bike. Rich, don't take offense to this but I don't care for harleys. In my opinion they are overpriced and the quality control just isn't there. I respect any bike on the road and appreciate all of them for what they are, however, the way that harley riders come across me isn't respectful and I don't want to be apart of that kind of a following. Just my 2 cents.
