i just had an argument with my roommate about this. he says skiing is much better than snowboarding.....i said fawk no. i said that the youth of this country is definitely turning over to snowboarding. his argument was "oh my god lets be cool and put both feet on one board and fall and break our wrists." i dont see that as a legit arguement. he was also like i will smoke your ass down the mountain. thats not the point of snowboarding to me. yes i like to go fast(by my standards, not patrono's), but there is a fine line between goin fast and not wanting to kill yourself. any thoughts?

Wasn't there a thread before that got turned into the which is better thread?
I do both, i like both, and they both have pros and cons in my thinking.

I board but have not been in years, i am hoping to go next week. I have never tried skiing so i cant really judge but to me it would be easier to control one sliding object with 2 feet than 2 objects with two feet.
There is a very small ski/board park within walking distance from my house so i really have no excuse for not going, just lazy i guess but there are also dozens of great mountains to go to within 2 hours of my house. But i really sucked when i used to go and i hope i can reteach myself.

Tried them both and prefer skiing. More challenging for me. Let's not turn this into a skiing's better, snowboardings better blah blah shutthefukup. It's personal preference.

Every skier i've talked to says Snowboarding is more challenging. At any rate, I board, but i'd love to try and ski, it's just we get to go so infrequently around these parts that I wanna board as much as I can. And I can vouch for that wrist thing.

Every skiier usually says boarding is harder, ever boarder usually says skiing is harder. The two are so completely different usually its extremely hard for someone to switch over. If you have never done either i have heard boarding is easier to learn.
