dancing doesnt require athletic ability, I can dance if I wanted to and do not consider it in any way athletic, and I dont compete when I do it. even if I were to do it alone, there are no rules, no scoring. dancing isnt a sport shane. First off, I doubt you can dance. Second, I can hit a ball around or walk for a few minutes, that does not mean I'm playing baseball, or an Olympic runner. Dancing is a real sport in the official sense. I don't think of it as a sport, but that's just me. Gymnastics, figure skating, ballroom dancing, etc..... They are all forms of competitive dance, and are considered sports. Mike, I say again, get a clue and until then, keep quiet while the grown ups are talking

While I was able to pick up Shane's sarcasm in this post, evidentally you were not capable of doing so. Even though Shane does not believe dancing is a sport officially it is considered one. I don't care whether you think dancing is a sport, but is incredibly ignorant of you to say that dancing is not athletic at the very least. Maybe not "club" dancing, but have you ever tried ballet? The average adult burns 400 calories an hour while dancing. When you dance you burn calories, build muscle, and stay fit. HOW IS THAT NOT ATHLETIC? Athletic: Characterized by or involving physical activity or exertion And for the record, you can compete in dance, much like you can gymnastics. If you think that gymnastics is not athletic either, you are more foolish than I realized and arguing my point further would be pointless. ok so where does it say dancing is offically a sport. because there is no way in hell dancing is considered a sport and golf isnt. my point is, anyone can dance. Yeah, maybe it can be done in a competitive way ( although ive never watched competitive dancing so I dont know how it works) but, ANYONE can dance. I could turn on some music right now, and dance. Therefore, I would say that is a hobby. Maybe it can be played as a sport, but its also a hobby. Golf is a sport. Not anyone can just pickup clubs and play golf. It requires skill, whereas ANYONE can dance. Golf will always be a competition whether you are playing alone by yourself, or in a group. I doubt you've ever played golf nica so I dont think you can wrap your mind around that. this thread has veered way of course. Its about golf. And how its sport. Care to share your opinion on why or why you dont think golf is a sport.

Ill turn on some music right now and dance. You can hit a ball around and walk around, sure, but you wont be good at it. I can throw some tunes on and dance and be good at it. Anyone can dance, not anyone can play golf. How can i competitively dance? What are the rules of dancing. Dancing is a hobby. If you ask almost anyone person about golf, im sure they could tell you atleast a couple rules about golf, or how its played. Ask someone who competitive dancing is done, and most people wouldnt be able to tell you. Like i said earlier, im not here to argue with you that dancing is a sport ( it isnt ). This thread is about golf. If you want to go argue that dancing is a sport and further prove your masculinity, please, go start a thread. I have a clue. Dont tell me to be quiet and talk down to me like im a child. I clearly am not, and am going about this post in a mature manner. So fuck off.

I know golf is a sport.... That doesn't mean I think it should be. I was offering counterpoint and my reasons why I do not think golf really is a sport. I also have a hard time with dancing being considered a sport, but it is, that doesn't mean I think it is...... I'm not sure you're understanding my views here.... Yes, by the way, anyone can just pick up some clubs and play golf, they will play like shit, but they can do it. Much in the same way anyone can hear a song, and move around to it a little, they are dancing, although it might be quite terrible to watch. There are alot of things that are now real sports, that I don't think of as sports..... Okay, for clarification: 1) Yes, I know golf is a sport. 2) I think golf is a game, not a sport. 3) Dancing, fishing, shooting, curling, weight lifting, and many other events/games, are in fact "Sports" even though I don't think of them as such 4) The points I was bringing up in this thread were for debate purposes only. I was not taking this thread or myself too seriously at any point during this conversation. 5) I like debating..... It might even be my sport of choice
