both of my parents are in the PGA/LPGA so to say ive seen what is involved in competing professionally in golf is an understatement... my father has competed in PGA tours since the 70s and the amount of training and conditioning involved in staying at a competitive level professionally is more than most would think, evidently.

I'll remind you that I have never said golf was not athletic.... The article came up on a google search. Synchronized swimming is VERY physically demanding but not a sport. How about WWE, most people don't consider it a real sport, but I'm sure it's because it just isn't as physically demanding as golf.

WWE isnt a real sport because it is just a show...they dont have an actual wrestling match and someone outdoes the other...its just a tvshow with a physical element attached to it.
wrestling however is a sport...REAL wrestling.

I know why WWE isn't a sport. I'm saying that you still have to be in shape, and the physical demands for something like WWE are far greater than those for golf, but it is not a sport (because the outcome of most matches are predetermined). I never said golf didn't require you to be in shape, that was just an article I found when I googled golf being a sport.

I just found that one article, and even stated that I didn't agree with it. I posted it as an alternative view. Please read, then post. My opinions are mine, and I don't need google, wiki, imdb, or any other internet knowledge-bin to tell me what I think. Thank you and go fuck yourself

dancing doesnt require athletic ability, I can dance if I wanted to and do not consider it in any way athletic, and I dont compete when I do it.
even if I were to do it alone, there are no rules, no scoring.
dancing isnt a sport shane.

While I was able to pick up Shane's sarcasm in this post, evidentally you were not capable of doing so. Even though Shane does not believe dancing is a sport officially it is considered one. I don't care whether you think dancing is a sport, but is incredibly ignorant of you to say that dancing is not athletic at the very least. Maybe not "club" dancing, but have you ever tried ballet? The average adult burns 400 calories an hour while dancing. When you dance you burn calories, build muscle, and stay fit. HOW IS THAT NOT ATHLETIC? Athletic: Characterized by or involving physical activity or exertion And for the record, you can compete in dance, much like you can gymnastics. If you think that gymnastics is not athletic either, you are more foolish than I realized and arguing my point further would be pointless.
