Actually with that post i answered my own question. Ariel Atom is american, less than 40k, and outperforms almost any car in the world in every single category.
If you want to base a cars excitement factor just see what clarkson has to say about it, and you will not find another episode ever where clarkson has more fun.

My jeep would be awesome if I had a team of developers to work on it and like 80,000$ to drop on it.

I still can't believe you people like the Veyron and it doesn't even have a standard transmission. Such craziness...the fastest car in the world has a fuckin auto. yes but thats what makes it the fastest car in the world, precise shift points. the ferraris can shifter faster than you can blink but it still relies on the driver to pull that paddle shifter and yes that is a sick pic of the GT i had to post it

The atom is street legal, im sure you could get ariel to give you some ideas on how to register/insure it. And yes your right, the ford gt is probably one of the greatest cars ever built. Story time, back when i had my wrx i followed one all the way through town. Silver with black stripes Lets just say with 320whp to my subie the GT made light work of me

If you guys didnt know the Veyron is the fastest in a straight line, but nowhere near the fastest around a track. Top Gear finally got one and it ended up like 3rd or 4th on the stigs board. It is impressive but not so much after Top Gear.
It's not very hard to reach 250+ mph when you have 1001 hp

The japs and the brits like lower power vehicles with better handling then full out horse power machines. Nothing wrong with either, just preference. As for Ferraris...I dunno...never got into them. sure they are awesome cars but...meh.
