I'll be looking to gear up to 5.38's on my hp44 but somebody told me it would be a better idea to use 4.88's and just swap a 4:1 t-case in. Basically would going to 5.38's be a lot of strain on a set of hp44 yukon gears? My brother has a 44 out of a waggy that he bought off somebody who roasted 2 sets of 5.13s and now he just did it himself a couple weeks ago but thats also a low pinion axle.

the pinion as a lot smaller when you run gears like that so that may be what they mean by roastin them.

The set up could have also been the issue.
