Ok, so many of you run front XJ shafts in the rear. To do that, you need an auto front shaft and auto tranny. People who have the AX15 are basically out of luck because the tranny is shorter than the auto, so the front XJ shaft isnt long enough. I was thinking about getting a front TJ shaft, its super beefy compared to an XJ shaft, and just having it cut down to the right size. It would probably be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a tom woods or having a custom made. Think it will work?

Does the TJ shaft have different size u-joints than the XJ?

;D any idea how much a dshaft shop would charge to cut down a driveshaft? When i shortend the chevelle's shaft I cut and welded it on my own by eyeball, took it to get checked and balanced and was 20 thousandths out so they just centered it and balanced it for 90. Had I actually did a runout I could have nailed it for sure. My guess would be between 120-150 to shorten it.
